Erwin Jansen

Erwin Jansen studied communication sciences, corporate communications and new media & information technology in Belgium and the Netherlands. He started his career as a consultant at PWC, but decided to follow his passion for creativity, brands, advertising and people. After a short apprenticeship at Y&R, he had a great time at LDV United, starting as a junior jack-of-all trades and working his way up to head of new media & innovation. He then good hooked up to Giovanni Canini through Chris Verlinden – today the CEO of leading datingsite and a long standing Wunderman Antwerp client – and they jointly launched expanded Media in early 1999, an e-business and e-marketing agency in Leuven and Antwerp. 2 years later, they decided to go their own way, in their way and founded These Days, one of the first and foremost digital agencies in Belgium and the Netherlands, growing over the years to become a leading integrated communications agency. In 2007 These Days became part of WPP under the Wunderman and Y&R umbrella, and has kept on growing ever since. Gio and Erwin are jointly responsible for the Wunderman (and Y&R) operations in the Benelux and are part of the Wundermam EMEA leadership team.

Giovanni Canini

Giovanni Canini started his career as a Research Assistant at the Free University Brussels. At the university he was one of the founding fathers of the Research Centre of New Media and Information Technology. From the university he moved to Concentra, one of the largest regional newspaper and media company in Belgium. In his position as new media consultant he launched the first digital newspapers. In 2001 together with his business partner Erwin Jansen, he founded the agency These Days. These Days joined the WPP and Wunderman group in 2007. Over the past years the agency developed an impressive portfolio of national and international brands. In his position of Benelux CEO Gio overlooks the Wunderman operations in Antwerp, Amsterdam and Brussels.

Gio and Erwin have been best friends since the last 20 years and still are waiting for the first day to have an argument (or a fight!). They jointly invest their spare time and family savings in startup in Belgium and abroad.
